Nicole Hewson

My name is Nicole Hewson, and I am a write-in candidate for the 42nd District of the New York State Senate.

I am a lifelong New Yorker. I grew up in the Champlain Valley region of rural upstate New York, where I spent my first 28 years, including my college education. In 1998, my husband and I moved to the Hudson Valley as newlyweds. My entire teaching career, more than 25 years, was spent in New York State. We made Orange County our home and still live in the same big old farmhouse that our city, Middletown, grew up around over the last century. We love our community, and it has been our home for more than 20 years.

Although I was dedicated to my work in education, I retired early because I saw the world changing rapidly around me, and not for the better. I felt I could do more good for our community in the political arena. I do not want to leave New York. I want to stay and fix it.

I did not start out as a Libertarian. I was a Democrat, then a Republican, until I realized both were part of the same duopoly of favors and corruption. As I watched the curriculum strip out the U.S. Constitution, New York State and local history, basic skills, and the trades, replacing them with woke socialist indoctrination, I decided my time and energy were best spent advocating for something better and helping the public see through the lies they have been sold.

I ran for my local Board of Education during the COVID-19 “plandemic” and won. I fought fiercely against medical mandates and spoke out against the intentional destruction of small businesses and the inflated budgets that hurt our children. I watched our kids isolated behind screens by a dumbed-down system of camera-based teaching, which led to more violence and mental health problems in our schools. I fought for a zero-based, accountable budget. And I have called out the politicians who are not doing their jobs, including my opponent.

In New York I was outnumbered, and I still am, but people are beginning to wake up. The truth is I could win this seat and do absolutely nothing (not my plan, of course), and our state would still be in better shape than if my opponent gets one more term. Our tax dollars are being stolen. Our utility bills are through the roof. It saddens me to see the young people I taught unable to buy a first home, and the people I have always looked up to, our veterans and grandparents, forced to choose between food and medicine. We have a sick society, with children suffering from diabetes and heart disease. This may be the first generation that does not outlive its parents. Why? Corruption across the board, and I want to stop it.

Worse still, our society is becoming a system of control. Look at the Flock-style mass surveillance cameras on every corner. Our citizens have lost their Fourth Amendment right to privacy. Eminent domain has stolen people’s dreams in political land grabs for giant AI data centers that waste our energy and clean water and point toward a bleak future.

Let me tell you what I stand for: America and New York first!
