About Steve Oscarlece
Steve Oscarlece was born and raised in Poughkeepsie. It is where he met his wife, raised his daughter and built his career. He started working at 12, delivering the Poughkeepsie Journal on a paper route, and held part-time jobs all through school.
He earned a degree in Computer Science from SUNY New Paltz, and his career has taken him from flying as a charter and airline pilot to computer programming to running his own small business. He now serves as Commissioner of the Dutchess County Office of Central and Information Systems (OCIS), where he builds budgets and finds savings. He led the Town of Poughkeepsie’s move onto the County’s Public Safety system, an agreement that saved the town $550,000 in software costs and still saves it more than $80,000 a year in maintenance fees.
Steve is running for Town Supervisor to give residents a government that is transparent, fiscally responsible and honest with them: no budget surprises, no unnecessary borrowing, and a line-by-line look at where every tax dollar goes.
