I will fill everyone in on what is going on in the Libertarian Party of New York recently.
As you may be aware, the Libertarian Party of New York did not collect enough signatures to get our candidates, Chase Oliver and Mike ter Maat, on the ballot. We are discussing legal options, but at the very least, New Yorkers will need to write-in Chase Oliver/Mike ter Maat in order to vote for the Libertarian Party ticket.
Our State Committee elections are coming to a close at the end of this month, and the Elections Oversight Committee will meet to finalize certification of the results, which must be done by August 31, 2024. The new State Committee will be seated at the State Convention to be held on September 21, 2024. The Executive Committee is working on the final details for this and an announcement will be made soon. At this convention, a new Executive Committee will be elected.
2025 local elections will be coming up. Contact us if you are interested in running for local office next year and need assistance.
No more rules committees. No more platform committees. None of that.
The singular purpose of the LPNY should be legislative action and community outreach
1. Letters, phone calls and in-person meetings to all members of the NYS Elections Committee. Apply pressure to change the election laws.
2. Social advocacy campaign- Broadcast the facts, “NYS ranks at bottom in voter participation”, “highest in campaign contributions”, etc…
I love your efforts and dedication Andrew, I hope you and yours are well.
