Hudson Valley, Manhattan, Capital District, and Nassau Chapters Hold Conventions

Recently, four LPNY chapters held their annual conventions.

The Hudson Valley Libertarian Party held their convention on May 1. All officers were re-elected: Gary Triestman as Chair, Bob Cotton as Secretary, and Jan-Erik Janson as Treasurer and State committee representative. The chapter has also endorsed Victoria Alexander for Congress in New York’s 19th District as well as Dianne Smith for State Assembly District 101.

The Manhattan Libertarian Party held their convention on May 8. Aaron Commey was elected as the new chapter Chair, Gil Midonnet was re-elected Secretary, Mark Axinn was re-elected Treasurer, Brian Waddell was re-elected Political Director, and Alex Merced was re-elected Media Director. Ilya Schwartzburg was elected as Manhattan’s new representative to the State Committee. “We had terrific remarks from our new State Chair Jim Rosenbeck and Gubernatorial candidate Larry Sharpe,” said Axinn. The chapter also endorsed Jineea Butler for U.S. Congress in New York’s 13th District.

The Capital District Libertarian Party held their convention on May 8. Charles Senwick was elected Chair, Bill McMillen elected Vice Chair, Michael Lynch elected Secretary, Jeffrey Russell re-elected Treasurer, Fred Cole elected State Representative, and Werner Hetzner elected Communications Director. The chapter endorsed Victoria Alexander for Congress in New York’s 19th District.

The Nassau County Libertarian Party held their convention on May 10. All officers were re-elected: Blay Tarnoff as Chair, Chris Garvey as Vice Chair, Gary Donoyan as Secretary, and Mike Dowden as Treasurer.

Upcoming county conventions include Chautauqua (June 2), Suffolk (June 3), Genesee (June 4), Westchester (June 10), and Livingston (June 16). Conventions for Erie and Warren this year have yet to be announced.
