Onondaga County Libertarian Party Endorses Tom Babilon for Mayor of Syracuse

The Onondaga County Libertarian Party is proud to endorse longtime member and Syracuse city resident Tom Babilon for the 2025 mayoral election. Running on the Republican ticket, Babilon’s platform reflects core Libertarian principles of fiscal responsibility, property rights, and individual liberty.

Babilon’s campaign focuses on reducing the tax burden on residents, eliminating unnecessary regulations in order to foster small business growth, and finding more efficient approaches to city services. Committed to upholding the values of transparency and accountability in city governance, Babilon pledges to carefully review the city budget, reduce costs through consolidation of services, eliminate no-bid deals, and cut wasteful spending that fails to deliver results.

With 22 years of legal experience, Babilon served as an Assistant Corporation Counsel for the city of Syracuse for nearly a decade, providing him with and in-depth knowledge of municipal operations. After leaving city hall in 2018, he shifted to family court appeals and currently works for Hiscock Legal Aid, which provides free legal counsel to low-income residents of Onondaga County.

With the mayoral election set for November 4, the Onondaga County Libertarian Party urges voters support Tom Babilon’s campaign for a more efficient, accountable, and liberty-minded city government. For more information, visit gobabilon.com
